We receive PE and Sport Premium funding to enhance our physical education provision and promote healthy, active lifestyles. This funding allows us to provide high-quality lessons, employ specialist coaches, offer a wider range of sports, and run extra-curricular clubs and activities. We use the funding strategically to ensure that all pupils have opportunities to develop skills, confidence, and a love of physical activity.
Please see below how we spend this funding:
The Pupil Premium is additional funding provided to schools on top of the main school budget. It is allocated based on the number of pupils on roll who have been eligible for free school meals (FSM) within the last six years. Pupil Premium funding is also provided for children from service families and pupils who are ‘Looked After’ (in care) or adopted. Families can check eligibility and apply for Free School Meals here: Dorset Council – Free School Meals.
Schools decide how the Pupil Premium is spent, as they are best placed to assess the additional support needed for individual pupils. Schools are held accountable for how they use this funding to help pupils from low-income families achieve their full potential.
At St Andrew’s, our Pupil Premium lead is Mrs Anna Hedges, who works closely with staff across the school to ensure that this funding is used effectively to support the learning and well-being of our Pupil Premium children. You can view our full Pupil Premium Strategy here: Pupil Premium Strategy
