Behaviour at St Andrew’s
At St Andrew’s, we have three rules. We support the children to:
- Be ready
- Be respectful
- Be safe
When children follow our school rules, there are lots of exciting rewards for the children to enjoy.
If children need support to be ready, respectful and safe, we follow our behaviour pathway.
Research tell us that behaviour is a precondition for learning. Jon Hutchinson states, “With great behaviour, almost anything will work. Without it, almost nothing will.” With this evidence informed thinking in mind, our behaviour approach is based on 5 principles:
- Being fair (equity/equality)
- Being non judgmental
- Putting relationships first
- Clear boundaries
- Natural rewards and consequences
