As some of you may know, we are having a new Science classroom built and it will be called the ‘Boyle Building’ after the scientist, Robert Boyle.
This half term, in addition to the work I am sending out/the children are completing at school, I would like you to have a go at some of the activities in the document below all about Robert Boyle. I have included some very fun (and rather messy) experiments that I hope will bring awe and wonder and help the children understand a little more about why our new Science classroom is named after Robert Boyle. Please note, if your child is coming into school I will be doing all of the activities with them so you do not need to do them at home.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Best wishes,
Mrs Hedges

Tomorrow your child will come home with their first ever reading book. They will have a book without words before we start our phonics learning next week. Please look at the pictures with your child and discuss the story with them. They will also come home with their yellow reading record. You need to write the date, title of the book and any comment you would like to make about their reading. It is really important that you read with your child as often as you can. When you have finished reading each book, swap it for another book from the lilac box. When your child is ready to move on to books with words I will send them home with an appropriate book. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.
Happy reading!
